BATIN: A concerted crackdown on illegal immigrants which began last week led as of Friday to the detention of 150 persons, the Passports Department said on Friday. “We have held 150 persons of various nationalities for breaches of labor and residency laws,” said Nafi' Al-Harbi of the Passports Department in Hafr Al-Batin. “The campaign is being carried out at various sites such as shopping zones, the cattle market and other public areas. The detained have been handed over to the relevant authorities for investigation.” Al-Harbi added that the campaign is scheduled to continue for a month.
