JEDDAH: Bakhashab Isuzu Rally Team is all set to take part in the week-long Pharaohs International Rally beginning in Egypt Sunday. The Bakhashab Brothers Holding Co. announced in a statement Thursday that the Isuzu Rally team will be sending two diesel 4x4 Isuzu D-Max to the event. The Pharaohs Rally is a thrilling endurance race across the Sahara attracting competitors from around the globe. The 3,000-km circular route begins under the gaze of the Sphinx in Giza ending up back in the lively Egyptian capital, Cairo. The 26th rally will kick off Sunday from near the Pyramids in Giza. ln 2005, it was enlisted among the Rallies World Cup, due to the success it has attained over the past many years. The choice also enhances Egypt's important location as one of the main sponsors of desert sports in the world. The Isuzu team enters the rally following its successful participation in the Hail Baja Rally 2010 where it won the T2 category title and finished fifth overall. The team had also participated in the UAE International Rally with distinction. Sheikh Hisham Bakhashab, Bakhashab Isuzu Holding Company chairman, announcing the participation of the team said, this is in continuation of the company's policy to support Saudi youths to represent the country in international events. Isuzu team has well-known Saudi rally drivers Majed Al-Ghamdi and Sami Al-Shamari. The two are fully supported by a technical team under the supervision of team manager Abdulrahman El-Hiraki, who has managed the team at the Hail Baja Rally Championship 2010 and the UAE International Rally. __
