A delegation from the National Recruitment Committee at the Saudi Council of Chambers Commerce has started an official visit to the Republic of Mali to explore the prospects of recruiting manpower from the African nation. The visit is part of the Committee's effort to diversify employment resources in the wake of difficulties local recruitment agencies are having in hiring maids from some Asian countries, notably Indonesia. Members of the National Recruitment Committee will discuss several issues, notably recruitment conditions, with their Malian counterparts in advance of signing a final agreement during the visit, according to a press statement issued by the Saudi Council of Chambers of Commerce. The agreement will mark the beginning of employing Malians. Saad Al-Badah, the Committee's chairman and leader of the delegation said the agreement serves the interests of employers and employees. He said Malian house-helpers expect reasonable salaries and pointed out that recruiting from Mali will end the monopoly of some Asian countries. Before the trip, the Committee established close contacts with authorities in Mali to look into employing its citizens, especially as house-helpers, and the Malian minister for Manpower Abroad invited the Committee to visit.
