An official report obtained by Okaz/Saudi Gazette shows that 4,000 new government jobs are being filled by foreign women. Many Saudi female university graduates are looking for jobs, but the report did not include any reasons why women from foreign countries are being employed. The number of jobs provided in the public and private sectors is far lower than the number of people seeking employment. There are 460,000 people seeking jobs, the Ministry of Labor has secured 48,000 private-sector positions and the Ministry of Civil Service established 67,000 vacancies in various government sectors, according to the report. The report said those vacancies, in sectors including health, education and lecturers in higher professional institutions, were filled by 23,000 women and 44,000 men. The report showed that eliminating government jobs held by 1,000 foreign men reduced their numbers to 35,000. The number of the foreign women in government jobs has reached 36,000, after the 4,000 were appointed. Statistics in the report showed that the number of Saudis and expatriates working in the government sector has reached 899,711.
