THE approval on Monday from the Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, for the establishment of a civil organization named the “Saudi Association for Quality”, to come under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, signifies moves towards the promotion of the culture of quality in terms of both concept and practical application in both the government and the non-government sectors. It is a move that will help to improve the quality of services, products and information, and serve to develop them, with the Association representing a “house of expertise” in the sphere of quality. For there is a need to consecrate the culture of quality in all national and social organizations and bodies, and make it an urgent issue in this developing and advancing world based on excellence, discipline and scientific procedure. The Saudi Association for Quality will help organizations, companies and non-governmental societies strengthen the role of government in an integrated fashion, with the nation and society as beneficiaries. It will work towards ingraining the culture of quality in Saudi society and seek to give quality a presence across the board in both the government and non
