SOUND politics can only be based on rational discourse, a profound vision and a strategy towards the issues that are of interest to the world and ultimately mankind. No country can have a true role except through the love, peace and harmony it disseminates across the world, and this is what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working on through the historic and cultural part played by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the originator of the idea for a call to dialogue between followers of religions, a call which has been echoed across the globe and received with respect, appreciation and approval. Yesterday (Monday) Austria announced that its capital Vienna is to be the location for the headquarters of the King Abdullah Center for Interfaith Dialogue, a center that will constitute a rostrum, a base of peace and a domain for cultural dialogue. Austria describes the Kingdom as the voice of moderation in the Middle East and the principal political player in the region, in addition to being an economic power and the cradle of Islam. The world is currently extending the role of dialogue to embrace more comprehensive and wider expanses. The choice of Vienna as home to the King Abdullah Center serves to confirm the weight and significance of the call by the man of reform, dialogue and development – the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - and has become an issue with a global framework to create, in full consciousness of its importance and the responsibility it entails, a general state of love and tolerance between all followers of all religions in the world. __
