Mayor Dr. Hani Abu Ras has issued his first decision for shifting senior officials at the Jeddah Mayoralty and more moves are expected in the near future. Dr. Abu Ras, who took office about five weeks ago, appointed Badr Abdullah Al-Gadri as a director for the Tourism Department. Sources said Abu Ras is expected to issue a series of decisions in the coming weeks including the transfer and appointment of some senior officials. The moves are part of a strategy to inject new blood into the organization and improve the standard and quality of the services it provides, sources said. Some dignitaries have suggested that the mayor use a helicopter to avoid traffic while monitoring projects, but Abu Ras said it is not necessary because he has detailed knowledge of the projects and monitors them efficiently by inspecting them after midnight.
