King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, held talks with top intelligence and counter-terror officials from the United States and Canada, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. Prince Naif and John Brennan, Assistant to the United States (US) President for Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism, reaffirmed their countries' commitment to fight terrorism. They also stressed the need to establish further cooperation to counter terrorism everywhere, especially in the Middle East. They focused on the importance of working together to fight Al-Qaeda and its terror activities. They commended the friendly relations and continuing cooperation between the Kingdom and the United States, and the ties between King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and President Barack Obama. “We would like to thank US President Barack Obama, the US Ambassador to the Kingdom, and the staff of the US embassy, for their sincere cooperation on issues of security and countering terrorism. We look forward to more cooperation,” said Prince Naif. Brennan commended the efforts of the Saudi security forces in eliminating terror attacks in the Kingdom. He also praised Saudi and US security bodies for exchanging information in accordance with agreements signed between the two countries. The US official also praised the efforts of Prince Mohammed Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, in countering terrorism in the Kingdom. Prince Mohammed Bin Naif also attended the meeting, along with a number of senior Ministry of Interior officials, and James Smith, the US Ambassador to the Kingdom. King Abdullah and security officials also held talks with Richard Fadden, director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. The meetings with King Abdullah were also attended by Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel Jubeir, a close advisor to the Saudi king on foreign affairs.
