In an apparent spoof of the recent Tea Party rally in Washington, America's leading satirists Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will hold rallies on the National Mall days before the November election. Daily Show host Stewart – who satirizes US political news from a Democratic viewpoint – announced details of his “Rally to Restore Sanity” on his website Friday, saying it was for those “who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive and terrible for your throat.” He said he hoped to attract an audience which believes it is only right to draw a Hitler mustache on someone “when that person is actually Hitler” – a reference to posters seen at Tea Party rallies depicting US President Barack Obama with a Hitler mustache.
