The Eastern Province is gearing up to celebrate Saudi National Day on Sept. 23 with a top class program that includes a colorful parade. The parade is scheduled to start from King Abdullah Park in Dammam Corniche at 4 P.M. and includes 350 decorated vehicles and modified cars, 150 motor bikes and horses. The parade will proceed via Dammam's Muhammed Bin Fahd Street through Dhahran and King Abdullah Road to Al-Khobar ending at Khobar Corniche after passing through Prince Turki Street. According to Engineer Hussein Al-Balushi, the Eastern Province's municipal media spokesperson, there will be a march of around 5,000 volunteers carrying the national flag from Al-Khaleej Commercial Center to the Corniche. The march will include orchestras, athletes, volunteers, students with special needs, scouts, cartoon characters, intellectuals, university students and several public figures. At the closing ceremony at the Al-Khobar Corniche there will be traditional Arabic dances, acrobatic shows, songs by renowned artists and various cultural programs. Al-Balushi said that the national day parade will include all sections of society and all age groups. The decoration and beautification process in the province is already under way.
