The Saudi Arabian Airlines transported over two million passengers during Ramadan and Eid seasons, Khaled Almolhem, Director General of the airlines, said Sunday. Addressing the airlines employees at an Eid ceremony at the company headquarters here, Almolhem said some 13,000 scheduled and extra flights transported the large number of passengers. “We had planned well for the work pressure during this period of time and succeeded in meeting the huge demand,” Almolhem said. Commending the employees, Almolhem urged them to keep up the good work to serve the country. Commenting on the number of passengers Saudia was able to serve during a short time, Almolhem said that the achievement embodies the important role that Saudia is playing in serving the country and the people. He added that the whole year has become like one season for Saudia. “We have a number of consequent seasons that keep us busy throughout the year. School vacations, Umrah and Ramadan seasons and Haj season have all made us ready along the year,” he added. Almolhem expects his company to transport over a million Haj pilgrims this year. He said that these passengers will be brought to the Kingdom from 83 international destinations, besides those travelers to the holy places from inside the country. “Our operational and marketing plans demand that we take advantage of the recent technologies to keep the highest possible service standards,” Almolhem said. For his side, Abdul Aziz Al-Hazmi, Deputy Director General of the airlines, noted that his company will receive 29 planes of its new 70-jet fleet of airplanes by year
