An attempt to rob an ATM in Dhahran Al-Janoub governorate failed here Thursday, police said. But robbers caused great damage to the screen, numbers keyboard and camera lens embedded in the machine, the police added. Acting on a report from a a security company tasked with guarding the location that unidentified persons yanked the door for the ATM room from its hinges and caused great damage to the ATM, the police launched an investigation. Preliminary probe showed that the thieves exploited the security guard's inattention and tried to break open the ATM near the social insurance building. The police are still looking for the perpetrators of the crime.
