Two men were killed in strong floods that surprised motorists and swept away at least three cars and a bus crossing the Tasher Valley in Jizan Thursday, authorities said. The floods came less than a month after the tragic death of a mother and her daughter when their car was swept away by floods in the same valley. A man in his 60s was found dead inside his car that was swept while crossing the Wadi Tasher. The man's body was recovered by Civil Defense rescuers from the car that was found several miles away. The body was taken to Al-Tawal General Hospital by the Civil Defense ambulance. Authorities said two men were killed in the floods but did not give details on the death of the other man. A lucky motorist escaped unhurt when he managed to free himself from his car that plunged into the valley's bed. The bus driver also escaped unhurt. Captain Yahyia Al-Qahtani, Civil Defense spokesman in Jizan, said the floods were caused by torrential rains that hit several governorates in the region. The affected governorates included Al-Aidabi, Samta, Abu Ariesh, Al-Harth, Leya, Dhban, Khalb, Al-Melh and the Tasher Valley.
