Dr Hashim A. Yamani, president of the newly established King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy (KA-CARE), and the former minister of Commerce & Industry, together with Dr Mahmoud Abu-Zeid, president of the Arab Water Council, joined the growing list of distinguished experts who will address the annual Saudi Water & Power Forum (SWPF) to be held in Jeddah this October. KA-CARE is tasked to tackle the Kingdom's growing energy demand. Dr Yamani will provide insight into the transformation of the energy sector and Saudi Arabia's long-term strategy for sustainable growth during a keynote presentation at the SWPF inauguration ceremony on Oct. 3. Dr Abu-Zeid, who was Egypt's minister of Water Resources & Irrigation for 12 years until 2009, will be looking at Saudi power and water in a regional context. He is also honorary president of World Water Council, a MEMBER of UN Advisory Board on Water Supply and Sanitation and former president of International Water Resources Association (IWRA). The winners of SWPF awards, including the SWPF Award for Innovation and the Marafiq Award for Sustainability, will be announced at the gala dinner on Oct. 3.
