Ahli Club hopes to sign Milovan Rajevac of Serbia as its new coach, following the departure of Norwegian Sollied. The club officials are now waiting for the Serbian coach to agree to the offer. After that, the coach would be officially named. The agreement is said to be renewable after one year. Headed by Prince Khaled Bin Abdullah, head of the Honorary Members Committee, the Ahli administration met Thursday to discuss the club's whole affairs. They focused on the football team after the miserable results in the Saudi Zain Professional League where the team collected just three points from four encounters. They discussed the financial and administrative sides of the club before they announced that they had reached a preliminary agreement with the 56-year-old Serbian coach who took Ghana to the quarterfinals of the recently concluded World Cup in South Africa. Rajevac holds a high football coaching certificate from the University of Belgrade. He also holds a UEFA professional license in coaching. He has been a football player from 1973 to 1989. He has played for the Olympic team of Yugoslavia, FC Red Stars Belgrade and New York Arrows. As a coach he has managed FC Borac of Serbia, FC Srbija of Sweden, FC Guoan of China, FC Red Star Belgrade, Serbia, Al-Sadd of Qatar, FC Vojvodina and FC Lovisad. However, Ahli supporters are less hopeful that the new coach would change the situation of the greens. They believe that Ahli's setback is due to some players who have become a burden to the side.
