The Council of Ministers ordered the formation of a committee to review the allocations made for the development of Jizan, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Monday. The committee, comprising the Emir of Jizan, Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy and Planning, will revise the allocations made in the 10th Development Plan to determine the amounts needed for environmental reform, urban centers and the cost of the university campus besides securing three ferries for the transportation of passengers between Jizan and Farasan Island. The decision was taken based on a report of the 6th meeting of the Ministerial Committee formed to study the current and future requirements of Jizan submitted by Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Interior and the committee chairman. The Kingdom and Spain will sign a joint defense cooperation pact. The Council of Ministers authorized Crown Prince Sultan or whoever he delegates to discuss with the Spanish side a draft Memorandum of Understanding in the field of defense, reported the Saudi Press Agency. King Abdullah briefed the Cabinet on the visit made by King Juan Carlos of Spain and the cordial relations linking the two countries as well as the common understanding on the international issues. King Abdullah also briefed the Cabinet on the visit of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. __
