Spain's Dani Pedrosa passed pole winner Ben Spies on the eighth lap of the Indianapolis MotoGP and pulled away for his third victory of the season Sunday. Pedrosa beat Spies, the American rookie, by 3.575 seconds. Points leader Jorge Lorenzo, the other Spaniard, was third for his worst finish of the season. Toni Elias of Spain posted his third consecutive Moto2 victory. He covered the 71.672km circuit in 30 minutes, 27.480 seconds on his Aprilia. Julian Simon finished second. Scott Redding placed third. Nicolas Terol of Spain captured the 125cc race.
