The water crisis in Taif has, of late, aggravated with the cutting of supply to two populous districts of the city. Residents have complained of an endless wait in getting water tankers from distribution points where the list has now grown to about 3,000. There is virtually no respite from the crisis all through the year, residents lament. Distraught residents of the city urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter sympathetically and take immediate remedial measures. Ibrahim Al-Shihri, a Saudi, said the cycle of water crisis continues. Earlier, he said, water crisis was there during Ramadan and Haj seasons. But the trend is to be seen all through the year now, he said. He said he is sometimes forced to purchase water unfit for drinking to meet other urgent household needs. Another citizen, Eidha Al-Harthi, said he has been waiting for the past four days to get a water tanker. - Okaz __
