King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has completed preparation of the first five-year expanded plan for science, technology and innovation at a cost of SR16 billion. The plan, to be implemented simultaneously with the 9th Development Plan, includes eight major national programs in the field of science and innovation. The plan sets a strategic objective of bringing the Kingdom to the forefront of countries in the region in the spheres of science, technology and innovation in the next five years.
