Dr. Hani Abu Ras, the newly appointed Mayor of Jeddah, carried out his first field inspections on Saturday by checking on the city's eastern districts, including Quwaizah and Jack Street. The mayor checked on stagnant pools of water that have been worrying residents, and ordered immediate action. The mayor also inspected Umm Assalam municipality and the services introduced to citizens. He issued directives to speed up asphalting of pavements and some unpaved areas. The mayor's program includes many field inspections to personally address people's needs and to get acquainted with the progress of projects being executed in the city, said Ahmad Al-Ghamdi, the Mayor's Office Director of Information.
