The Pakistani ambassador to the Kingdom Omer Khan Alisherzai expressed the thanks of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and its gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for the popular campaign he has ordered for assisting the people of flood-stricken areas in Pakistan.? The Pakistani news agency quoted the ambassador as saying that the Saudi leadership always stands beside of Pakistan during difficult times, noting that the donations made by the Saudi leadership, royal family, and Saudi people will no doubt contribute to the alleviation of the sufferings of the Pakistani people who are victims of the floods. The Pakistani people will remain grateful for the solidarity and sympathy demonstrated by the Saudi leadership and people, he added.? He also lauded the efforts exerted by the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Abdulaziz Bin Ibrahim Alghadir to aid flood victims. King Abdullah has ordered that SR300 million be provided to flood-stricken Pakistan on behalf of the Saudi people and a national campaign has collected more than SR100 million for Pakistan's flood victims. Meanwhile, the Saudi Development Fund (SDF) has signed a contract with the United Nations to provide $9 million worth of financial support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Pakistan.
