King Abdul Aziz Charity Society for Social Services is organizing a competition for 50 couples due to be married at the end of Ramadan. The competition called the “Bridegroom Rally” will be held in Hail starting Saturday. Different contests are part of the culture here in Ramadan to get as much money for charities as possible, but this contest is perhaps the first of its kind in the region. To participate contestants are required to meet a number of conditions. Bridegrooms must be more than 20 years of age, have their official marriage contract and earn no more than SR3,000 a month. The future brides agreed to attend a two-day training session. The participant with the highest number of points will be declared the winner. The top prize is household furniture and appliances including a refrigerator, freezer and audio system. The second-place winner will receive a refrigerator, freezer and audio system and a refrigerator and audio system will be given to the third place winner.
