More than 195 exhibitors will participate in the four-day 11th Oriental Market (Besat Al-Rih carnival) that will open Aug. 16th at the Jeddah Center for Exhibitions and Forums. The charitable carnival will display a collection of products including food, home appliances, artwork, gift items, and jewelry that meets families' needs for the month of Ramadan. The carnival will be inaugurated by Princess Nouf Bint Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz. Princess Adela Bint Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, head of the National Home Health Care Foundation, the organizer of the carnival, will also be present. According to Princess Adela, the proceeds from the event will be utilized to support the foundation's financial resources and to maintain its commitment toward patients. She stressed the importance of charitable works especially in the holy month and called upon all sectors to support the festival. “There are more than 48,000 people in need of home medical care and this number is increasing because of the growing number of aging people,” said Princess Adela. She added that the percentage of people over 65 will increase from six to 12 percent of the population in a matter of couple of decades while health care currently covers only three percent of this group. “Because of this great demand, the foundation has expanded its services through partnerships with other societies,” said Princess Adela, explaining that the foundation provides its beneficiaries with home-based medical services in cooperation with government hospitals. She added that the foundation currently serves about 3,000 patients annually in the Western Region and Madina.
