A man in his 30s stabbed a Makkah policeman while the latter was performing Fajr prayers at a mosque near Al-Maabdah police station Monday. Abdulaziz Al-Khaldi, Assistant Criminal Investigator, who sustained deep wounds in his back, was taken to King Faisal Hospital where he underwent surgery and is still recuperating. The assailant was overpowered by others in the mosque and was handed over to the police. Major Raed Al-Ruhaili, acting spokesman for Makkah Police, said the suspect will be referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution after preliminary investigations are completed.
