A young woman has been deprived of her ability to have children after her baby died in labor and her uterus was damaged because the doctor treating her made a medical error, according to a complaint the woman's husband filed against the hospital where his wife was treated. Abdullah Al-Qarni, Acting Director of Sabt Al-Alaya Hospital, has assigned a medical committee to investigate the matter. Al-Qarni said the committee will give him a report that answers all questions about the matter and the case dossier will be referred to the concerned authorities to complete the procedures. The husband's complaint relates that his wife was admitted to the hospital because she was suffering from labor pains. He said he was waiting outside the hospital room for his baby to be born, but he was told the baby died and he thanked Allah for the safety of his wife. He said the doctor and medical team did not tell him why his baby had died. According to the husband's complaint, the doctor caused the baby's death and his wife's injury by giving her large doses of medicine to induce labor, instead of taking her straight to the operating theater to deliver the baby by performing a cesarean section. He said this happened after he signed an agreement for the operation to be performed. The husband said he will also file a legal case against the doctor who treated his wife.
