During the holy month of Ramadan the private sector will work six hours a day, Dr. Abdul Wahid Bin Khaled Al-Humaid, Deputy Minister of Labor announced Sunday. In accordance with Article 98 of Chapter Two of the Labor Law, employers may either opt for 36 working hours a week or six hours a day during Ramadan, he said. Working hours have been reduced from eight to six to enable Muslims to carry out their religious obligations with ease, he said. Meanwhile, Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Mohieddin Khoja said that Saudi TV channels 1 and 2 will transmit live in English and French the meanings of the verses of the Holy Qur'an recited by Imams of the Two Holy Mosques during prayers throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
