Drinking green tea is a popular trend today, a very healthy one. If you did not already catch the green tea fever, I will give you several reasons why you should take on this habit. However to reap the many health advantages green tea is famous for, you should drink at least 2 to 3 cups daily.
u Green tea reduces the risk of several cancers. The antioxidants found in green tea are 100 times more effective than vitamin C, and 25 times more potent than vitamin E. These antioxidants protect your body's cells from the damaging effects of free radicals, toxins, and pollutants that might be carcinogenic. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals before they produce their harmful effects.
u Green tea helps prevent heart disease and stroke by lowering cholesterol, specifically harmful LDL cholesterol. Green tea also prevents high blood pressure.
u Green tea slows the degeneration of cells meaning it helps fight the effects of aging. Drinking green tea can help slow the development of wrinkles and prevent skin cancer.
u Green tea along with regular exercise helps burn fat and speeds up your metabolism rate. Again, to get these benefits you need to drink about 3 cups per day.
u Green tea helps maintain the health of cartilage, a main component of joints, making it useful in relieving the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
u Due to its fluoride content, green tea helps keep your bones strong.
u Green tea improves the metabolism of fat and glucose. Green tea can help control any sharp increase in blood sugar levels.
u Some studies suggest that green tea even boosts memory.
u Catechins in green tea can kill bacteria and help your body resist bacterial infections.
u Polyphenols and flavonoids in green tea help strengthen the immune system. Regular drinking of green tea can decrease your vulnerability to the common cold and flu.
u Green tea improves dental health and slows the growth of bacteria in the mouth that cause bad breath.
u So, next time you are asked what you would like to drink, think green. __
