On behalf of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, will open the International Islamic Conference here on Saturday. The conference is being organized by the Muslim World League as part of commemoration of its 50th anniversary. In a statement issued here Friday, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki, Secretary General of the MWL, thanked Saudi leaders for their continued support to the organization's activities. Leading Islamic scholars and heads of Islamic groups and centers in different parts of the world have been invited to attend the three-day conference, he said. “The MWL has become an international organization with offices in different parts of the world. It would not have achieved this stature without the Saudi government's support,” Al-Turki said. The conference will focus on four main topics: MWL's contributions in the past 50 years; MWL's position in the world; MWL and Islamic issues; and MWL's efforts to establish a better future for Muslim communities.
