President Nguyen Minh Triet has said he welcomed Saudi Arabian businesses' investment in Vietnam and pledged to create the best possible investment climate for their operations in the country. Triet made this statement during a reception for Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, his wife and his entourage in Hanoi on July 28. During the meeting, Alwaleed said that his country will continue investments in banking, hospitality and tourism in Vietnam. He said Vietnam has become an attractive destination for investors, not only Asia but also the rest of the world after weathering the global financial crisis with a positive growth in its economy. The prince praised thousands of Vietnamese guest-workers in Saudi Arabia for their industriousness and expressed his willingness to assist Vietnam in charitable activities. Alwaleed stressed that his delegation to Vietnam aimed to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially economics, trade and investment. Meanwhile, President Triet recalled his recent trip to Saudi Arabia and thanked the country for assisting Vietnamese victims of the recent floods and typhoons.
