The Civil Defense in Jizan has shut down a sports center swimming pool after a teenager found himself in difficulties and was left submerged for seven minutes before being rescued, according to the father of the boy. The boy was taken to hospital and placed in intensive care. “The sports center was in breach of safety regulations and had not ensured that rescue facilities were in place,” the father said. The Civil Defense confirmed that the sports hall at the center had been closed and its electricity supply cut off until the completion of investigations.
