Handbag trio gets 24 years

An appeals court has upheld a verdict condemning three persons to a total of 24 years in prison and 2,400 lashes of the whip for stealing handbags from 22 women around the capital. The ruling also confiscates the vehicle used in the theft of the property, all of which was recovered by police and returned to the victims.
