Punjab mauls Rajasthan

The Kings XI Punjab beat the Rajasthan Royals by 41 runs in the last league match of the IPL here on Wednesday.
Chasing a huge target of 222 runs, the Rajasthan Royals could score only 180-7 in the allotted overs.
Niraj Patel was the top-scorer (57 off 39 balls) while Yusuf Pathan smashed 39 off 15 balls. Kamran Akmal also hit three sixes for his 24.
Piyush Chawla claimed 3-35 while James Hopes secured 2-29 for Punjab.
Earlier, the Kings XI Punjab piled up the mammoth score for the loss of three wickets. Opener Shaun Marsh smashed 115 runs off 69 balls. James Hopes added 51 runs off 35 balls.
Shane Watson led the Royals in the absence of Shane Warne, who tested. They decided to go with only three overseas players. Younis Khan got his first game.

Mumbai records easy win
The Mumbai Indians recorded an easy nine-wicket victory over the Bangalore Royal Challengers in Bangalore also on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 123 runs off 18 overs, the Mumbai Indians scored 126-1 with two overs to spare.
Sanath Jayasuriya hit 54 off 37 balls, while Sachin Tendulkar remained not out on 40 and Robin Uthappa remained unbeaten on 19.
Earlier, the Mumbai Indians restricted the Bangalore Royal Challengers to 122-9 in the rain-shortened match. Bangalore's main scorers were Cameron White (26) and Vinay Kumar (23).
Man-of-the-Match Dilhara Fernando picked up four wickets for 18 runs for Mumbai.
