Naeem, Fahim, Farooq excel

Helped by an explosive and unbeaten 92 from 42 balls by Farooq, Mahmood Saeed defeated Usman Gems in the Summer League of the Western Province (WPCA) League Championship here.
Usman Gems, batting first, produced 208-9 with Amir Sajjad making 30, Junaid and Babar hitting 27 each. Kashif took 3-32, Nadeem 2-44 and Imran 2-28. Farooq, in awesome form, smashed 92 with 9 fours and 3 sixes and added 131 runs unbeaten partnership with Niyaz (40 off 25 balls) to steer Mahmood Saeed home in 19.1 overs after they were reeling at 80 for 5. Gazzafi made 36. Amir Sajjad took 3-35.
AOT Sonex plundered the Zultrack bowlers all over the ground with opener Faisal blasting 73 in just 25 balls (10x4, 4x6). Then prolific Naeem Shah cracked 105 not out in 40 balls with 9 fours and 7 sixes to post an imposing 280-3 in 20 overs. Faiq contributed 30 and Ilyas 29. Zultrack in reply was all out for 207. Emmad made his presence felt with well a compiled 58 off 26 balls. Imran made 30. Nasir got 3-22, Imran 2-25 and Faiq 2-45.
Crown Steel thrashed Zultec by 83 runs as Crown, batting first, piled up 230-7 through Hammad 64, Babar 43. Anis Malik scalped 3-37. Zultec, in response, lost wickets at regular intervals to be all out for 147 in 16 overs against some accurate bowling by Zaheer (4-33), Hammad (2-35), Shoaib (2-42) and Ijaz (2-32). Ajmal stood among the ruins with 85 in 37 balls. Abdullah made 27.
My Care Hala bundled out IDB for 115 as teenager Fahim with his orthodox right-arm spin mesmerized the opposition with the figures of 5-21. Khalid Butt made 39 and Wasim 27. Arshad took 3-26. Earlier My Care Hala piled up 212-5 as Kashif stroked 56 in 21 balls along with Shahbaz (63). Omer made 32 and Rahat 31. Riyaz of IDB took 2-29.
In the Afternoon Summer League, Crown Blue defeated Nestle Milo by 7 wickets. Nestle scored 173-7 with Abdullah hammering 80. Murtuza took 2-48, Imran 2-24 and Nadeem 2-34. Crown Blue was home (176-3) with Nadeem making 55 not out in 21 balls, Hasanat 38, Rashid 36 and Murtuza 30. Usman Gems Tigers went down to SGB Baroom by 8 wickets as Tigers put up 163-7 with Umair Tasneem hitting 56. Sarfaraz took 2-29 and Kashif had 2-24. SGB Baroom responded with 168-2 with an unbroken 104-run partnership between Manjit (48 n.o.) and Rehan (60).
Elaf Engineering lost to Al-Saudi XI after posting 220-4 in 20 overs. Usman hit 55 not out, Hasnain 50, Ali 39 and Ijaz 35. Abbas and Adil took 2 wickets each. Al-Saudi XI in response took 100 balls to blast the required 223-4. Abbas remained unbeaten on 60 off 24 balls and Nadeem hit 40. Qamar took 3-31.
Hala International School won against Fuchs Hamrani.
In the Morning League, Attieh Steel got the better of Usman Gems Blue.as Attieh batting first stroked 201-9 through Shahid (63) and Kashif (40). Atta got 2-23 and Javed Khan 2-36. Usman Gems Blue in reply was tumbled out for 83 as Shahid took 4-7, Shakil had 2-19, Kashif got 2-37.
Mohatrif lost to ATS after putting on 189-6 in 18 overs. ATS responded with 190
