The first manuscript exhibition “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Written Heritage” will be inaugurated Sept. 10 by Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh, and Chairman of the King Abdul Aziz Darat. The one-and-a-half-month exhibition will display more than 3,000 manuscripts from fields of knowledge including Shariah, language, literature, history, geography and astronomy. Documents are being provided by the Royal Court, a number of ministries and government institutions, private libraries from the Kingdom and abroad and 65 individual institutions and people. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, Saudi Aramco and Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University are among the contributing organizations. At the inauguration, the Darat will honor a number of participants in appreciation for their role in conserving and protecting manuscripts.
