On July 13 2005, 150 people were killed and a thousand injured in an accident involving three passenger trains near Ghotki, 248 miles to the north-east of Karachi, Pakistan; The same year on April 25, 107 people were killed after the derailment of a train which crashed into a residential building near the western city of Osaka, Japan.
