A bride and groom spent their wedding night in jail and now face a court hearing for attacking a hotel receptionist who told them that their booking had been canceled. The couple had reportedly appeared at the front desk of a hotel in central Abha, booking in hand, to be told by the Asian receptionist that they would have to wait until their room was cleaned, only for the same person to return a short while later to say there were no rooms available. An angry exchange of words then boiled over into a full-blown fight with flying furniture, drawing blood from the receptionist who required hospital attention. The receptionist filed a complaint with police and the bride and groom were taken into custody, and despite the efforts of relatives to mediate with the offer of SR10,000, the man declined to drop his case.
