Rasheedi, who was moved to the hospital Thursday after suffering from sunstroke, died on Saturday. The recruit's death came 48 hours after he was hospitalized after collapsing during training at the Public Security Training City in Madina Thursday. He was 25. Al-Rasheedi's body is still lying at King Fahd Hospital morgue pending procedural wrangle after his family refused to receive the body until investigations are conducted. Saudi Gazette reported on Saturday that the recruit was moved to the hospital more than two hours after his collapse. A cousin of the deceased said the recruit's colleagues told him that they had requested emergency hospitalization after the recruit collapsed because of the sunstroke. “But their request was turned down by the training officials,” the cousin quoted the recruit's colleagues as saying. The Al-Oyoon Police registered the statements of several of the deceased's colleagues and the case has been referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution.
