An illegal immigrant hides as police conduct multiple raids in Jeddah on Friday resulting in the arrest of nearly 1,500 illegal immigrants, and over two score Arabs and Asians for criminal offenses. The campaigns, which involved house raids and street checkpoints, took place in the districts of Al-Mashhad, Al-Jamea, Kilo 3, Al-Mahjar, Kilo 7, Bin Laden, Kilo 10 and Bani Malek. “The arrests were for theft, liquor production and dealing, pick pocketing, fraud, and breaches of public morality,” a police spokesman said. – By Ibrahim Alawi
