The General Presidency of the Prophet's Mosque Affairs has said that 800 female monitors have been drafted in to assist women visitors during the Umrah season. The 800 monitors and guides, according to Abdul Wahid Hattab of the Presidency's Media and Public Relations division, are assigned to various departments concerned with ensuring safety and comfort for pilgrims. “200 are tasked with carrying out inspections around the clock at the women's entrance gates, while 150 are stationed inside to organize the entrance and exit of women visitors,” Wahib Hattab said. Some 130 observe overall organization and arrange worshippers into prayer rows, and 100 women have duties ranging from first aid, preventing regulation violations, barring the entrance of publications, ensuring cleanliness and safety at stairs and corridors, and continually supplying Zamzam water in the designated containers. Other monitors have been tasked with identifying lost persons and guiding them to the correct department to be reunited with their groups, while others are in charge of lost property belonging to women. Women visitors at the mosque, Hattab said, are organized into groups according to language. “There are also females at the library who have passed courses in people-skills and a range of languages to provide the best and friendliest guidance to women visitors,” he said.
