Hail Police have arrested a prisoner who ran away from King Khaled Hospital where he was undergoing treatment. According to the area's Director General of Prisons, Colonel Ayed Al-Qahtani, the prisoner, who was under a 3-year sentence, was caught in the governorate of Al-Shanan, 80 km off Hail on Monday evening. A committee was set up to investigate his escape and to interrogate the security officer who was tasked with escorting him. The prisoner was arrested at his mother's home. He had been referred by the prison's physician to the hospital for investigation of health complaints. The policeman who was escorting him removed his handcuffs to allow him to go to the restroom but he took this opportunity to run away. - Okaz __
