The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah (KFSH) was merged with the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh. This was announced at a press conference at the KFSH on Wednesday. The chairman of the administration board of the KFSH in Riyadh, Dr. Fahd Abdul Jabbar and Dr. Qassim Al-Qassabi, Executive Director of the hospital in Riyadh and Dr. Tareq Linjawi, General Manager of the KFSH of Jeddah, were present at the press conference. "A sum of SR180 billion has been allocated by the government for both hospitals to enhance and remodel the infrastructure like radiology, heart catheterization and electronic monitors," Dr. Jabbar said. He also said that the decision of turning the Jeddah hospital into a government body has come in accordance with the Royal Decree issued earlier this month. The demonstration board has already approved the latest designs and plans of the likely Oncology Center in Jeddah, Dr. Jabbar said. __
