The Administrative Court at the Board of Grievances in Asir has issued a verdict against the Asir Mayoralty and ordered it to pay SR11,000 in compensation to a citizen, who is seeking SR1 million, after his son fell down while skating at King Fahd Park and sustained injuries including broken front teeth. Naser Al-Qahtani, the child's father, said he filed the lawsuit three years ago because recreational facilities at King Fahd Park, which is administered by the Asir Mayoralty, were poorly maintained and asked for SR1 million in compensation. He said after verdict that SR11,000 is insufficient, considering the seriousness of his son's injuries. Al-Qahtani, who said he will appeal the decision and hire a lawyer, insists on receiving compensation of SR1 million.
