The First Notary Public has resumed the transfer of property ownership in the east of Jeddah despite last Wednesday's decision by the Ministry of Justice to halt the measures for premises located on flash flood courses and in valleys at risk. A source said the Notary Public had been unable to comply with the ministry move as it “failed to identify specific locations” covered by its ruling. He added that the Notary Public was awaiting precise demarcation of the areas from the ministry and that transfers would proceed until the requested clarification had been received. The Notary Public had been instructed by the ministry to halt transfer procedures for property other than that approved by a committee of representatives from King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology, the Saudi Geological Survey and the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection, which has been tasked with identifying the locations.
