New regulations have been approved for Saudis and foreign residents to receive treatment at the Kingdom's Medical Cities and specialized hospitals. Hassan Al-Fakhiri, the secretary general of the Medical Cities, said the move was approved at a meeting of the board of directors chaired by Abdullah Al-Rabeah, Minister of Health, in Makkah on Saturday. “The new move will come into effect soon and covers all groups and illness types requiring admittance to the Medical Cities and specialized hospitals,” Al-Fakhiri said. Al-Fakhiri said that the meeting also approved new regulations governing human resources departments at the Medical Cities and specialized hospitals in terms of job classification, selection and appointment, training and scholarships abroad, wages, work performance assessment and bonuses, allowances, work schedules and hours, holidays and days off, health protection, and health care. The new regulations will also cover injuries in the workplace, work-related illnesses, social services, complaints, rules governing the working practices of women, and violations and penalties. The meeting on Saturday was given a presentation on the strategic vision of King Abdullah Medical City and also looked at the budgets of the country's Medical Cities and specialized hospitals.
