On behalf of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah, will wash the Holy Ka'ba on Tuesday. This was announced by Dr. Muhammad Bin Nasir Al-Khuzayyam, Deputy Chief of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, here Sunday. Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein, chief of the Presidency and Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheiby, Custodian of the Ka'ba, will assist Prince Khaled in the rituals. Al-Sheiby will open the gate of the Ka'ba as his family was entrusted with the keys of the House of Allah by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Officials from diplomatic corps and other VIPs from the Arab countries will participate in the ceremony, said Al-Khuzayyam. Prince Khaled will rub the floor of Ka'ba with a piece of cloth dipped in Zamzam and mixed with rose water. Dr. Khuzayyam said to wash the Ka'ba is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Day of the Conquest of Makkah. He washed the floor and walls of the Ka'ba with Zamzam water. This Sunnah is being followed since the times of late King Abdul Aziz. The Ka'ba is washed twice, first in the month of Shaban and then in Muharram.
