The car rental business is thriving here these days and investors expect to rent out all their cars during the summer holidays including Ramadan and Eid. Car rental companies have reported a great demand for different types and models of cars from visitors to the Jeddah Summer Festival which began Thursday . Saeed Bin Ali Al-Bassami, Vice Chairman of the Public Transport Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), said that with the beginning of the summer holidays, a tremendous increase in demand for rental cars had been noticed. Car rental rates in the Kingdom are “much less” than in many neighboring countries, he said. Ahmad Sajdi Al-Attawi, a member of the JCCI committee, said summer festivals across the Kingdom play an important role in the car rental business. A small car is rented for SR80 to SR100, medium-size car SR130 to SR260, large cars SR350 to SR600 while luxury cars are rented for SR800 to SR2,000, Al-Attawi said. – Okaz/SG The companies, he added, are developing their business by becoming acquainted with the system developed by the JCCI committee.
