The 31st Taif Summer Festival will kick off here Wednesday with a ceremony at King Fahd Sport City in Al-Hawwaiya under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah. Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Bin Muammar, Governor of Taif who is also Chairman of the Tourism Development Council and head of the General Committee for Tourism Promotion, attributed the improvement of tourism in the governorate in particular and in the Kingdom in general to the government's attention paid to this vital sector. The 6-week festival's program include Qur'an memorization contests, fireworks, theater performances, folk arts shows, children games, poetic sessions, drawing contests and others, in addition to exhibitions of stuffed animals and reptiles, dolphin and acrobatic shows, photography exhibitions and other entertainment activities. The programs will be held in parks, recreation centers, the Festival Village and women charitable societies.
