Red Bull Saudi Athlete Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal will be a jury member for the Red Bull Car Park Drift Middle East Championship to be held at the Forum De Beyrouth in Lebanon on July 16. The “Red Bull Car Park Drift” is neither a mere rally nor a conventional motorsport. This event that was launched in Beirut two years ago, grants speed and excitement, gives a new dimension for extraordinary competition, a race never seen before outside Hollywood thrillers – special cars show off their engines and offer great drifting performances in a parking lot, while candidates try to offer the best and most exciting show. The event will be organized under the patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Youth and Sport, Dr. Ali Hussein Abdallah. It is a competition between drivers where 75 percent of the grade goes for drifting art using hand brakes and special talents to swing between the pylons in a spectacular and accurate manner and 15 percent goes to style, while 10 percent goes to car appearance. Three Saudi drivers Saeed Al-Mouri (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X), Faisal Al-Sharif (Hyundai Genesis Coupe) and Abdul Hadi Qahtani (Hyundai Genesis Coupe) are getting ready to compete against 14 best drivers from Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Iran, Bahrain, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. It will be wonderful opportunity for motor sports lovers in the region to closely watch exciting exhibitions of car control skills and enjoy engines roaring in an extremely thrilling atmosphere. The Red Bull Car Park Drift was launched in Beirut in 2008. Its first and second versions were held in a two-level parking lot of a large commercial center. This year's event is sponsored by Hankook.
