A photo released Thursday by the Saudi Press Agency shows the stages of a controlled demolition of a building in Makkah as part of the second phase of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Project for the expansion of the northern and northwestern courtyards of the Grand Mosque. To date, 1,100 properties have been expropriated for the project, which includes the construction of a transport network for vehicles and tunnels with escalators for pedestrians.
