The head of Traffic Police in Riyadh has said that the Saher traffic cameras will put a stop to joyriding and stunt driving, and warned the nation's youth that hundreds of patrols will be out on the roads as the school examination period ends Wednesday. "Regulations will be strictly enforced if anyone is caught stunt driving, speeding or committing any other motoring offenses," said Solaiman Al-Ajlan. "We would ask parents to cooperate with us and take responsibility for their children and try to prevent them from breaking road laws and putting people's lives at risk." Al-Ajlan also appealed to other road users as large numbers prepare to set off across the country at the beginning of the holidays. "Drivers should check their vehicles to ensure they are in good condition before setting off, particularly their tires which are a major cause of road accidents," he said. We would ask the public to adhere to speed limits and to stop driving if they feel tired or ill, and ensure they get enough rest." The Traffic chief also advised drivers to avoid traveling late at night and further asked passengers to keep an eye on the person behind the wheel. "They should check to make sure the driver is fully awake and keeping to the speed limit," Al-Ajlan said. Meanwhile, the Jeddah Traffic Department Sunday launched “My Safety”, a special traffic plan for the summer season.
